Lea-Ann Belter Bride Rewind {Sarah + David}

When art galleries and weddings mix, magic happens, and this week’s real wedding rewind is the perfect illustration!

We love working with brides at our Lea-Ann Belter flagship store in Toronto. Working with brides on a daily basis serves a constant reminder of who we design gowns for, but what makes us lucky is to be a part of such personal milestone.

5 Reasons April is Made for Love

February usually gets all the press for love and romance, but April might just have the shortest month of the year beat. Said to be named after Aphrodite, the goddess of love, and on the cusp of spring in full swing, April offers more than just rain for May’s flowers. Wonderful as wedding inspiration, below are just a few of April’s charms:

National Poetry Month:

As far as romantic gestures go, poetry is right up there with serenades, candlelit dinners and getting down on one knee…and the whole month of April is dedicated to celebrating beautiful prose.

A big part of engagement and wedding rings since the 1930s, in addition to being a girl’s best friend, diamonds are April’s birthstone.

Springy Daffodil Wedding Bouquet Ideas

Who can resist daffodils? Like robins and bunnies, they’re one of the unofficial symbols of spring. Available in pretty pastel hues (including pink!), daffodils add tons of fresh-feeling charm to a bridal bouquet.

Combined with pink peonies and blush ranunculus, they’re bright and modern, but paired with dusky roses they feel positively vintage. Add kumquats, daisies and poppies to the mix and you’ve got a bouquet with quirky sophistication.

Lea-Ann Belter Mathia Bride {Colby}

With its sunny skies and air of romance, it’s easy to see why Colby and Andy chose Aruba’s Eagle Beach as the destination for their wedding getaway.

Through striking details like sculptural calla lilies and touches of bright blue (check out Colby’s fabulous shoes!), their modern celebration captured the Caribbean island’s cerulean waters and famous white beaches. Topped off with jewelry that could just as easily have been part of a lost pirate’s treasure, even Colby’s wedding dress, our mermaid Mathia, seemed to echo Aruba’s vibe, reminding us at once of seashells.

Best wishes, you two!
